Ride to the Warehouse Women Moto Photoshoot Bombay Beach CA
On the way to Babes Ride Out last year, my bestie Kimmy and I wanted to ride at Joshua Tree like we did 10 years ago together. Every other time I’ve been there, I am on a photo trip and I only got to ride there once. This time we rode through the park several times in two days on our way to BRO.
So, were all at Babes Ride Out in California - so we thought why the F would we not ride out to the Salton Sea for a photoshoot? I made the crew pull off at this mountain location for a few photos. When we got to Bombay Beach, there was some event and the place was packed. I shit myself a little, also because it was high noon and I tried with all my might to get us all there early for morning light. We met at 7 am and then the ride was a few hours so we ended up shooting in that high noon lighting - but we made it work! We did this shoot for RIDE TO THE WAREHOUSE - a female rider empowering art project that showcases women that ride.
When we got to BRO the night before this shoot, we rode up the mountain to Julien. Julian being a charming mountain town known for apples and apple pie, while Borrego Springs is a desert community nestled within Anza-Borrego Desert. The ride was gorgeous. It was like 90 in Borrego, so we remained dressed lightly. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO COLD as I was in that apple pie town. You gain so much elevation and I was appalled at how dumb I was to wear nothing. It felt like I was naked. Don’t be me. Ever.

The ride back to Babes was like 40 MPH winds. It was INSANE. I was sideways. Kinda crazy! We stopped for a wind break to check out the cool sculptures in Borrego Springs.
The following morning I met Miss Candice for a few images in Borrego Springs. She had just given me a rad little motorcycle tattoo the night before. She is an amazing human and tattoo artist, she built her bike from scratch, and she is so magical that we got a frickin’ rainbow in our little shoot.
This website makes me so happy - I needed a place to showcase all of these amazing women who ride. One day - I will make a book! Thank you for being here!
